Beauty Box 5 is a monthly beauty sampling subscription service. Each box contains 5 beauty products to try. The April box was themed ‘Take a Hydration Vacation!’ and had 3 full sized items and 2 ‘deluxe’ samples. And by deluxe, they mean enough of a sample that you actually get to use it! No tiny dime size squirts of shampoo happenin’ over here! Products can include hair care, makeup, fragrance, body and nail care. You can see a full list of brands they carry on their website! Subscriptions start at just $12 a month, and shipping is always free! Also, if you love any of the items in your box so much that you’d like to purchase more (or if you want full sized versions of samples), you can do that in the Beauty Box 5 online store!
Alright, let’s get to the goodies…
Soapbox Sea Minerals Body Wash
Let me just say that this stuff smells like a mix of sunscreen and ocean waves! It’s filled with aloe, shea butter and sea minerals. This is a deluxe sample, and I’ll be sad when it runs out! Lucky for me (and you), it’s available at Target! And only $5.99 for a full sized bottle! The good news doesn’t stop there. For every full sized product purchased, Soapbox gives a bar of soap to a person in need. Type the ‘Hope Code’ found on the side of your bottle into their website to see exactly which project your purchase is supporting.
Jelly Pong Pong Paradise Pigments
When I first saw this I thought, “Whoa, way too bright for me!” But Jaylin and I tried it on, and it’s not nearly as neon on our lips. It makes them feel super soft and moisturized! They say you can even dab some on your cheeks and use as a blush. I opted against that, mainly because my makeup style can best be described as minimalist and my cheeks pretty much stay red all on their own. You can buy your own Paradise Pigment in the Beauty Box 5 store here for $19.95. It comes in two colors!
Maskeraide All Eyes On Me Hydrating Eye Gels
These were the first thing I tried out of the box! They were fairly simple to apply, but I had a little bit of a hard time getting them to stay in place at first. As time goes on, they stick a little better. They’re double-sided, so you get two uses out of this deluxe sample! Micah didn’t want me looking too much younger than him, so he used the reverse side right after I finished. I won’t say any miracles happened, but I did like the way my under-eye skin felt when I was done! I’d definitely use these again! You can purchase the very same deluxe sample I received in the Beauty Box 5 store for $5.
Chella Passionate Pink Moisturizing Lip Pencil
A little goes a long way with this lip pencil. It also felt soft, but I liked the Jelly Pong Pong pigment a little better as far as moisturizing goes. The color was a little more orange than I’d normally use, but it’s staying in my makeup bag for when I want to change things up a bit. You can buy one here for $18, and click around to see all that Chella Beauty has to offer, including additional colors in the lip pencil!
Global Beauty Care Green Tea Makeup Remover Wipes
I added makeup remover wipes to my nighttime routine a few months back when a friend introduced me to them. So far, I haven’t been loyal to any particular brand, just buying whichever package is speaking to me. These Global Beauty Care wipes are the best smelling ones I’ve used (and I like the packaging)! Added bonuses: they’re pH balanced, hypoallergenic, and designed to tone and improve the look of wrinkles and dryness. Only $1.99 for 30, I may have found my brand. You can buy some here in the Beauty Box 5 store.
If you go through and add up the retail cost of everything I received, you’d be out $50.93 if you bought everything! You would end up with a full sized bottle of the body wash instead of the sample, but that’d be the only difference. And this subscription box only costs TWELVE dollars! I call that a BIG win!
