I don’t know about you guys, but I feel like the older my kids get the harder it gets to find gifts for them. My older two are suddenly too old for Barbie houses and race tracks, but still too little to be overly excited about socks and underwear. We usually do one bigger gift for each kid. Dylan is getting a play kitchen, the little boys want a train table… but I’ve just been stumped on Jaylin and Zander. Well, I decided to do a little hunting on Groupon Goods.
What is Groupon?
If you aren’t familiar with Groupon, it’s a deal site where you can find discounted activities, travel, goods and services offered by local merchants. You have to subscribe and select your location to see deals close to you, and the deals are each only available for a limited amount of time and only while supplies last. Most of the goods I’ve seen on Groupon are offered in many areas, most nationwide. In addition to purchasing a handful of the goods over the years that I’ve been a member, we’ve also bought several for travel. If you’re in the Oklahoma/Dallas area, be sure to watch for deals on Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine! We’ve bought that one several times because it’s such a good deal.
I’ve spent my Sunday afternoon browsing through the available Groupon Goods, and I’ve found a few ideas! Jaylin would love this over-the-door jewelry armoire. The child seriously has more jewelry than I do, and she’s asking Santa (and her grandmothers) for more!
It comes in lots of fun, girly colors. What do you think? Is it too big for an 8 year old? It’s regularly $239, on Groupon for $84.99! But I only have until the end of the day to decide…
Zander was hopped all over a beanbag at Sam’s yesterday, so I was thinking he’d probably love a chair or beanbag to sit on when he’s watching movies or playing games. Groupon has this one for only $54.99.
I love that it’s a little more compact than the giant beanbag he wanted yesterday, but I’m not sure if he’d be disappointed. …and I’m not sure if I’d have to buy 5 or face a fight for the chair every single night for the rest of its life.
Do you shop Groupon? I’d love to hear some of your favorite deals! Also, if you have any gift ideas for Jaylin and Zander, send those my way too! Momma needs help!
